Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is the successful and simple method of lightening the colour of your teeth. We offer two options here at Amazing Smile:

In Surgery Power Whitening

Your teeth can be lightened immediately using this technique which is conducted at the practice and involves a bleaching solution being applied to your teeth which is then activated by a light or laser. The light energy creates a small amount of heat which starts the bleaching process, making your teeth lighter. The process takes approximately one hour and results are usually seen in one appointment.

Home whitening

We will take an impression of your teeth to custom make a mouthguard for you. The mouthguard is lightweight so that you can wear it comfortably while you are awake or asleep. Along with the mouthguard you will receive a whitening gel which is placed in the mouthguard which you then wear. This whitening system works by wearing the mouthguard with the whitening gel for several hours a day and therefore most patients tend to wear the mouthguard at night whilst they are asleep. Results are normally seen within a 14 day period.

Veneers

If you are unhappy with your smile because your teeth are uneven, discoloured, chipped or crooked porcelain veneers offer a natural looking option without the need for orthodontics or braces.

Veneers are used to straighten teeth, change the colour and/or shape of teeth or even to close the gap between teeth.

Veneers are thin porcelain "shells" which are shaped to fit over your existing teeth. The result is a straight, even smile with teeth which are consistent in shape and colour - a beautiful smile for many years to come!

White Fillings

White fillings allow us to restore decayed or broken teeth almost invisibly. They are commonly used in front teeth as they look very natural. For larger cavities at the back of the mouth an inlay is more likely to be the best option.

Crowns and bridges

We can cover unsightly teeth using crowns, spaces between teeth can be filled using bridgework either attached to crowns or by using the latest in adhesive dentistry, we can fix a replacement tooth onto an adjacent tooth using adhesive wings

With the new ceramic technology available, crowns and bridges are more and more tooth like and the black lines around the gum margins are less likely to occur.

Dentures

Facial aesthetics

We offer a range of treatments to ease facial expression lines and help with wrinkle elimination.

Every time we laugh, smile or frown, wrinkles are created by the contractions in our facial muscles. Over time, these contractions leave us with what we know as frown lines, crow's feet and laughter lines. Wrinkle elimination works by blocking impulses from the nerves to our tiny facial muscles, temporarily relaxing them so that they don't contract, thereby softening the appearance of these lines.

While the untreated muscles react in a normal way allowing facial expressions to be unaffected, the skin itself remains smooth and unwrinkled. The improvement can be surprisingly dramatic.

Removing calculus ( tartar) from teeth - this is done by a technique called scaling and polishing.
Treating gum disease (also known as 'gingivitis' or 'periodontal disease') - this is caused by plaque which is a sticky film of bacteria. If left untreated your gums will start to swell and bleed and will ultimately result in tooth loss. Tooth loss is not through age - it is because of gum disease.
Teaching patients good oral hygiene techniques - individually tailored to specific needs.
Analysing your diet and offering advice to help prevent decay.

Invisalign

Invisalign is able to treat a variety of orthodontic concerns such as crowded, crooked or “gapping teeth”. Your daily life will not be compromised because Invisalign is almost clear and quite comfortable to wear.
